f you’ve been attempting to build your very own town or even just a house in Minecraft, using just the simple, easily found materials can get a little boring. Using glass blocks can help make the building more modern looking and aesthetically pleasing. To find out how to make this in Minecraft, follow our easy step by step guide.

Step by Step Guide

Step 1: Find sand. Go to any beach or anywhere that sand is and gather as much as you can. The color does not matter. All sand will melt and turn into translucent-clear glass.

Step 2: Find a furnace. If you don’t already have a furnace, you will need to craft one. Crafting a furnace requires 8 cobblestones. After you acquire your furnace, place the available sand inside the furnace.

Step 3: Add fuel and sand. Place coal, wood, or any fuel source into the bottom sot of the furnace. As long as a steady stream of fuel stays in the furnace, your sand will smelt and turn into glass. In addition, add the amount of sand you have into the top slot in the furnace.

Step 4: Take the glass. When the sand has run out of the top slot of the furnace, the available glass will be in the right slot. Grab the glass from the furnace and place it into your inventory. The default glass is a blue-green color.

Step 5: Use your glass blocks. Glass is smelted as full-sized blocks and can be placed as such. It’s transparent to light and is very fragile. Once broken, it cannot be picked up and re-used.
