He is well-known for his mumble rap tunes and frequent use of auto-tune in his music. His nickname, The Future was born following his involvement in The Dungeon Family Collective and has stuck with him ever since. Future also goes by other nicknames such as Future Hendrix or Nayvadius Cash. Over the last decade, Future has made his way to become one of the world’s most successful rap and hip-hop artists. Future’s Net Worth is currently $40 million USD. How did he get to where he is? Let’s take a closer look.

Future’s Early Life

As mentioned, Future’s nickname sparked after his participation in the musical collective called The Dungeon Family. Future’s cousin, Rico Wade was a member and record producer of The Dungeon Family and highly encouraged Future to hone in on his songwriting and rapping, with hopes it would lead to a successful career. Rico Wade was also the one to give his cousin a respite from life on the streets and has been known as the ‘mastermind’ behind Future’s unique vocal sound.

Future’s Career Journey

Future’s career started in 2010 when he began releasing mixtapes. It was also during this time that he collaborated with popular rap star, Gucci Mane to produce the album Free Bricks. Future’s songs started to gain plenty of popularity after DJ Esco played Future’s tracks at Magic City, a strip club in Atlanta. Future’s net worth began to spark after this, as his name became more noticed and gained popularity in the US. This strip club, in particular, has helped launch careers for several Atlanta-based rappers and is well-known for its rap music.

Record Signing

In 2011, just one year after hitting the rap grounds, Future was approached and signed a deal with Epic Records. Shortly after, he released a mixtape called Streetz Calling - this became his most successful mixtape. Fast-forward to 2012, Future’s net worth saw an increase when he released his very first album, Pluto. The track Turn on the Lights made it to number 2 on the US hip hop and R&B charts. Two short years later, Future came out with his second album Honest. Following the 2014 album, Future continued to make a mark in the rap world with his third album DS2, his fourth album Evol, and his two fairly recent albums FUTURE and HNDRXX

Going back to mixtapes, Future and Juice Wrld (now deceased), released Wrld on Drugs in 2018. This mixtape made it to number 2 on the US charts, just one track behind A Star is Born, also contributing heavily to Future’s net worth. Most recently, Future’s seventh studio album called "Future Hndrzz Presents: The Wizrd" was also the soundtrack to the film The Wizrd; this album was released in January 2019 on Apple Music.

The most recent collaborations that have added to Future’s net worth include the songs “Life Is Good” and “Desires”, both featuring Drake.

Grammys

Future took home his very first Grammy award in February 2019 for Best Rap Performance. This award contributed to Future’s net worth and was for his performance on the popular song King’s Dead, which was also featured in the film Black Panther. Five months later, Future came out with a solo called Save Me, which made its way to number 5 on the US charts.

Tours

Though Future didn’t host many tours in his early career, he has performed two North American tours; the first one was the 2016 Summer Sixteen Tour with Drake. The second tour took place in 2019; the Legendary Nights Tour with Meek Mill.

Future’s Personal Life

Diving into Future’s personal and dating life, there’s a lot to tell. He has six children with six different women. Not sure if this contributes to Future’s net worth in a good way or negative way, but Future is able to identify five of his baby mamas, and cannot identify the sixth. The five he can identify include Jessica Smith, Brittni Mealy, India J, Ciara, and Joie Chavis. Future was engaged to Ciara for s short period of time between 2013 and 2014; however, the engagement ended due to Future’s infidelity.

Putting a damper on Future’s Net Worth, he has been sued by two of his baby mamas, Jessica Smith and Ciara. One reason includes Future not paying adequate child support and neglecting his son. Ciara’s reason for suing Future included defamation, slander, and libel after Future spoke negatively about Ciara on his Twitter account.

It doesn’t end with Ciara and Jessica, though. Two Florida and Texas women filed paternity suits against Future, putting a further damper on Future’s Net Worth. Both women claimed he is the father of their children, but Future refused to take a DNA test. One of the women let the lawsuit go in trade for a settlement, while the other woman continued with her lawsuit. Most recently, Future was at risk for potentially going to jail for the said lawsuit. So doing the math, Future could have eight children for all we know.

As of right now, Future is currently in a relationship with Lori Harvey
