Deleting your Reddit account is technically referred to as “deactivating” your account. Although “deactivating” implies it can be re-activated at some point, which is wrong. De-activating your account is a permanent decision.
It’s also important to note that deleting your account does not delete your post history. You will not be able to go back and delete your posts after deleting your account. Make sure to delete any posts you want to go away before deactivating.
Once you’ve deleted past posts, follow these steps to delete the account.
Step 1: Go to Reddit.com
The first step in deleting your Reddit account is going to the website. This action cannot be done through eh Reddit app, but you can type the address in your phone’s website browser.
Step 2: Log in to your Reddit account
You’ll need to log in to your Reddit account with your username and password. Click “Log In” near the top right corner of your screen and enter your info. You will also need to check the box acknowledging that you understand deactivating your account is an irreversible action.
