o, your favorite streamer Ninja switched Mixer, causing you to consider deleting your account. But now he may come back… Uncertain of the future, you’d prefer to stop your account, but still, have the ability to bring it back in the future. If this sounds right, you need to know how to disable a Twitch account.
What is Twitch?
Twitch is where millions of people come together live every day to chat, interact, and make their own entertainment together. While most people think of gaming and eSports, Twitch also hosts a variety of genres including Thursday Night Football, painters, and everything in between.
With your Twitch account, you can subscribe to streamers in the form of a Twitch Prime. This is a monthly paid subscription which gives you access to special perks created by the streamer. A portion of that subscription goes to Twitch and the other part to the streamer. Streamers can also collect cash donations from viewers, unrelated to Twitch Prime Subscriptions. It is also important to note that having a Twitch account and watching your favorite streamers is free.
Think of it like Amazon (which is the perfect analogy since they own Twitch). Anyone can order something from Amazon. But those who pay for Amazon Prime every month get access to special perks like free two-day shipping and prime video.
Who are the Biggest Twitch Streamers?
Not surprisingly, gamers dominate the most popular channels on Twitch. Names like Tfue, Myth, and Summit1G might sound familiar. These are some of the most followed accounts. This means millions of people get notifications from their stream but are not Twitch Prime Subscribers.
The most subscribed Twitch accounts include NickMercs (50,000), TimtheTatman (26,000) and Dr DisRespect (27,000).
For streamers, there are many ways to earn some serious cash from their live streams. Whether it’s from ad revenue, subscriptions, or donations, for those at the top of their game streaming can become a million-dollar profession.
